Delivery Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. UK Shipping Methods & Costs

All orders are dispatched the next working day, not the same day. Estimated delivery times below are counted from dispatch.

Shipping costs are calculated dynamically based on order weight and size. Available Royal Mail services and their prices are shown at checkout. Typical UK options include:

MethodTypical CostEstimated Delivery
Free UK ShippingFree on UK orders over £50.002-5 business days
Royal Mail Tracked 48 Large Letter£3.352-5 business days
Royal Mail Tracked 24 Large Letter£4.301-3 business days
Royal Mail Tracked 48 (Small Parcel)£4.152-5 business days
Royal Mail Tracked 24 (Small Parcel)£5.151-3 business days

Exact costs depend on order weight. Heavier or bulkier items (e.g. booster boxes) ship as Small Parcels and may cost more than lighter items like individual packs.

2. Free UK Shipping

UK orders over £50.00 qualify for free standard UK shipping. This is calculated before any discount codes are applied. Free shipping is not available on orders delivered outside the UK.

3. International Shipping

We ship to most European destinations using Royal Mail International Tracked, and to the USA, Canada and Japan using Parcelforce Worldwide Global Priority. Both services offer full online tracking from dispatch through to delivery; no express or standard untracked options are offered internationally.

Eligible EU orders ship free, see section 4 “Free EU Shipping Eligibility” below for the full rules. Free shipping is not currently available for USA, Canada or Japan.

Country detail pages with rates, transit times, and customs guidance: Europe shipping, USA shipping, Canada shipping, Japan shipping.

Estimated delivery is 3 to 5 working days after dispatch, although carriers may take longer during peak seasons. Your delivery country is automatically detected when you reach the cart page, and you can change it manually from the "Deliver to" selector there.

Typical international options include:

MethodTypical CostEstimated Delivery
Royal Mail International Tracked (Large Letter)From £10.303-5 business days from dispatch
Royal Mail International Tracked (Small Parcel)From £8.65 (Germany) / £9.30 (Ireland) / £10.40 (France)3-5 business days from dispatch

Exact international cost is priced per destination country and order weight. Named destinations (France, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey) have their own rates; other European countries use Royal Mail's "Rest of Europe" fallback pricing. Heavier items (booster boxes, bundles, collections) always ship as a Small Parcel. The final cost is always shown at checkout before you pay.

We currently cannot ship international orders over 2 kg. If your cart exceeds this weight and you want to ship outside the UK, please contact us for a custom quote.

4. Free EU Shipping Eligibility

Selected orders to EU and EEA destinations qualify for free Royal Mail International Tracked shipping. There is nothing to enter or apply, and no promo code is involved. When your basket qualifies, the free option appears automatically alongside the paid options at checkout.

Which service the free option uses

Free EU shipping is sent via Royal Mail International Tracked, the same standard tracked service we offer as a paid option. You get the same dispatch time, the same end-to-end tracking, and the same typical 3-5 working day transit after dispatch. Whether the parcel ships as a Large Letter or as a Small Parcel depends on the items in your basket; either way, the service is the standard Royal Mail International Tracked product. Faster or premium services are not part of the free shipping offer; if you want one of those, you can pick it from the paid options at checkout and your card will be charged the standard postage rate.

What qualifies an order

An EU basket qualifies when all of the following are true:

  1. Subtotal of £100 or more (calculated before any discount code is applied).
  2. The basket leaves enough margin to absorb the shipping costafter we pay the carrier and card processing fees, with enough left over that the order is still worthwhile for us to send for free. The check is performed automatically against the items in your basket; you don't need to calculate anything.
  3. Every line item has a recorded cost price. We need this to run the margin check. The handful of items where we haven't recorded a cost yet (mostly older catalogue rows) will not qualify the basket until we backfill them.

Why a margin check, not just a flat threshold

Trading card margins vary a lot. A £100 basket of Japanese singles carries enough margin to comfortably absorb international postage. A £100 basket containing a single booster box (which we buy at close to retail) does not. A flat “all £100+ EU orders ship free” rule would either price out customers who could legitimately get free shipping, or quietly run us at a loss on low-margin sealed orders. Checking the actual basket fixes both ends.

What this means in practice

  • Singles-heavy baskets typically qualify around the £100 mark, because singles carry the strongest margin.
  • Mixed baskets typically qualify around £180, depending on the ratio of singles to sealed.
  • Sealed-heavy baskets (booster boxes, ETBs, collector boxes, premium accessories) need to be higher value, often £300+, before they qualify.

These ranges are guidance, not promises. The only authoritative check is the one your basket goes through at checkout.

How to check your basket

Add the items you want, then on the cart page set the “Deliver to” country to your EU destination. Free shipping, if available, will appear as the cheapest option in the shipping selector at checkout. If you don't see it:

  • Try adding a few more items, or higher-margin items (singles tend to help more than sealed).
  • Check that your subtotal is at least £100 before any discount code.
  • If you've already hit £100+ on a sealed-heavy basket and the free option still isn't showing, the margin check is the blocker, see “What this means in practice” above.

Other things to know

  • Free shipping is currently EU-only. We are working on extending it to USA, Canada and Japan once we've verified the Parcelforce rates for those destinations.
  • Free shipping qualification uses the subtotal before discount codes. A £110 basket with a 20% off code still counts as £110 for the £100 floor.
  • Royal Mail International Tracked has a 2 kg weight ceilingfor Europe. Baskets above that weight can't ship via Royal Mail at all (free or paid), see the “contact us for a custom quote” note at the foot of section 3.
  • A Premium reward redemption of “Free Shipping” still works on any destination, EU or otherwise, regardless of basket value or margin.
  • We may adjust the qualification thresholds from time to time as carrier rates and our own costs change. The version of the rule described above is the current one.

5. Customs, Import VAT and Duties (International Orders)

All international orders are shipped on a DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) basis. This means:

  • The price you pay at checkout covers the item, UK VAT and Royal Mail shipping only.
  • Your country's import VAT and any customs duties are payable on delivery and are not included in your order total.
  • Your local postal or courier service will contact you if any payment is required before they release the parcel to you.
  • The amount charged depends on the declared value of your order and your country's import rules, which are outside our control.

Refusing to pay import charges will normally result in the parcel being returned to us or destroyed by customs. Any return postage costs or lost stock resulting from refused customs payments are the buyer's responsibility and will be deducted from any refund.

6. Delivery Area

We ship to addresses within the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey) at UK rates, to most of Europe (all EU member states plus Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Turkey) via Royal Mail International Tracked, and to the United States, Canada, and Japan via Parcelforce Worldwide Global Priority. Other destinations are not currently supported, please contact us if you need a custom quote.

7. Processing Time

Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 1-2 business days of payment confirmation. Orders placed on weekends or bank holidays will be processed on the next business day.

During UK public holidays, including Easter, Christmas, New Year, and bank holiday weekends, both our dispatch times and Royal Mail delivery services may be delayed. Royal Mail does not deliver on public holidays, and services may experience higher volumes around these periods. We recommend allowing extra time for delivery if you are ordering close to a public holiday.

8. Pre-Order Items

Pre-order items will be dispatched on or shortly after the official release date. The estimated release date is shown on the product page. If you order a mix of in-stock and pre-order items, the entire order may be held until the pre-order item is available, unless you request separate shipments.

9. Tracking

For tracked orders, you will receive a tracking number by email once your order has been dispatched. You can use this to monitor delivery progress via the carrier's website.

10. Transfer of Risk & Carrier Responsibility

Once your order has been dispatched and accepted by the carrier (Royal Mail or whichever delivery service is used), responsibility for the parcel transfers to the carrier. We are not liable for any delays, loss, damage, or misdelivery caused by the carrier once the item has left our premises.

Any issues relating to delivery, including late arrival, lost parcels, damaged parcels, or delivery to the wrong address, must be raised directly with the carrier. For Royal Mail, you can report a problem at royalmail.com.

11. What To Do If There's a Problem

If your order has not arrived or has arrived damaged, please follow these steps:

  1. Check your tracking, use the tracking number provided in your dispatch email to check the status on the carrier's website
  2. Contact the carrier directly, raise a claim or enquiry with the delivery service (e.g. Royal Mail) for lost, delayed, or damaged items
  3. Need your tracking info?, if you cannot locate your tracking details, contact us at info@packratt.co.uk and we will provide your tracking number and proof of postage

We can supply proof of postage and dispatch confirmation to support any claim you make with the carrier, but the claim itself is between you and the carrier.
